About this test

The NarcoCheck^® IDetect^® Amphetaminics is a test for the detection of various amphetamine derivatives on surfaces or in powders, solids and liquids.

It detects the main amphetaminic products:

Amphetamines

It can thus be used in different ways:

To detect invisible traces of amphetaminics on surfaces and all types of objects.
The sterile swab supplied in the kit is used to collect residual microscopic particles from any object, utensil or support used to handle amphetamine derivatives. The test then enables them to be clearly identified by a positive or negative result.
To detect the presence of amphetamine-derived substances in powders, crystals, tablets, liquids etc..
Only a few milligrams of the test substance are required. The test then allows you to know explicitly if the sample contains amphetaminics, by a positive or negative result.

Please note

This test does not allow to determine the proportion of amphetaminics in the sample analyzed.
Based on an immunological reaction, it detects the smallest traces of amphetamine like products. It will therefore be equally positive for a sample composed entirely of amphetaminics and one partially composed of amphetaminics (cut/contaminated with methamphetamine, for example).

To identify an amphetamine-derivative sample, i.e. to determine whether a sample is primarily or entirely amphetamines, use the ID-Test for Ecstasy and Amphetamines based on a chemical reaction instead.

Limits of use of the ID-Tests^® and IDetect^®

This test is a professional device used to help identify presumptive drugs or narcotics in the form of powders (fine or agglomerated), crystals, tablets, or some specific plants. It is not designed to test "anything and everything" (food, beverages, biological materials etc.), and particularly everyday products (household, gardening, cosmetics etc.) which contain various chemical compounds that can trigger unexpected reactions, and thus cause false or erroneous results.

Confirmation of a positive or negative result

Like any rapid test, this test delivers a purely indicative result. To know or confirm with certainty the composition of the sample, it is necessary to analyze it with a reference analytical method such as GC/MS or HPLC-MS/MS. The use of this test must therefore be done with full knowledge of the fact that no rapid screening test can be 100% reliable.
