About this test

The presence of psilocin in the body is generally due to the consumption of hallucinogenic mushrooms (also known as magic mushrooms).

Hallucinogenic mushrooms contain two active substances: Psilocin and Psilocybin.

These two psychotropic substances cause hallucinations, altered perception of reality, space and time, and even intense anxiety, confusion and paranoia.

Psilocin is also the metabolite of psilocybin. In other words, after ingestion, the human body converts psilocybin into psilocin.

Psilocin is therefore a biological marker of the consumption of these two active ingredients in magic mushrooms. The NarcoCheck^® PSIL test specifically screens for this molecule.
