The NarcoCheck® PPX rapid test strip is an immunoassay for fast the detection of propoxyphene use in human urine.
Propoxyphene is used to relieve pain of moderate intensity, eg after surgery or dental surgery.
The usual dosage is 4 doses of 65 to 100 mg (depending on the drug) per day, spaced 4 to 6 hours. It should be noted that this interval must be scrupulously respected in order to avoid any risk of tolerance, which could lead to gradually increase the doses.
This substance can cause physical and psychological dependence, in the same way as drugs and narcotics. It is therefore prescribed for short periods, in order not to trigger this undesirable effect.
There is dependence on propoxyphene, either by taking a medication that some people will lose control, or by a diverted use to increase the effects of tranquillizers, sleeping pills, antihistamines, antidepressants, or various drugs.
This urine strip allows the detection or control of propoxyphene use, with a reliability of 99%.
